Vidafel began in 1984 with a resort named the Costa Brava Hotel which was built a few steps from the Paraíso del Mar. The resort's name was later changed to Vidafel Mazatlán. Vida Feliz (Happy Life) was the inspiration for this name change. Today this resort is known as Sea Garden. Paraíso del Mar (Sea Paradise) was the second hotel built in the early history of the corporation and was erected in Mazatlán, México. Construction of this resort began in 1979. The Punta Sur Golf Course was the first golf course on the southern Baja California Peninsula, and its original purpose was to help increase tourism with 9 beautiful holes par 35 and 3,153 yards.
Now on the Punta Sur Golf Course, we try to keep the original ambience of the design, but with improvements for the benefit of the golf player. This course was created for a very soft play with a partialy flat design. But be careful, the fairways are not very wide and the external urban environment can make you play more interesting golf requiring precise strokes.

In 2005, Grupo Vidanta founded Fundación Grupo Vidanta, formerly known as Fundación Grupo Mayan. Fundación Grupo Vidanta's mission is to promote culture and science. In 2005, it held a conference in Buenos Aires Argentina to discuss the development gap between the United States of America and Latin America. Some recognized speakers in the event included Tulio Halperín Donghi, Francis Fukuyama, Enrique Krauze, Celso Lafer, Julio María Sanguinetti, Hernando de Soto and Ernesto Zedillo. The papers discussed during the Conference were published in a book edited by Francis Fukuyama (Falling Behind, Oxford University Press, Oxford/New York, 2008)
In 2007, Fundación Grupo Vidanta held a conference in Mexico City to discuss main international opportunities for Latin America as well as new world and regional challenges for the continent. Famous speakers included Erik Hobsbawm, José Miguel Insulza, Ricardo Lagos, Javier Solana and Mario Vargas Llosa. Papers presented at the Conference were published in a book edited by president Ricardo Lagos (América Latina: ¿integración o fragmentación?, Edhasa, Buenos Aires, 2008)

In 2002, Fundacion Delia Moran A.C. was created in honor of a beloved community teacher that dedicated her life to helping Mexican children survive the constant battle many face with poverty and ignorance.
